The eighth edition (2024) of The Tuscarora Trail: A Guide to the South Half in West Virginia and Virginia describes the changes that have occurred in the trail since the previous edition. There have been significant changes, both in the route and the facilities, for the hiker found along it; these include four major relocations and a major trail closure. The detailed descriptions of the history of the trail, its geology, and the flora and fauna found along it that were included in earlier editions are included here.
